Zach Finkelstein is a Managing Partner at Class 5 Global, an emerging market-focused venture capital fund. At Class 5, Zach focuses on early stage tech investments in Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Zach previously spent five years at Lumia Capital where he focused on Lumia’s emerging market portfolio. Between Class 5 and Lumia Capital, Zach was involved in investments in Careem, Grow Mobility, CargoX, and Shedul among others and was recognized by Forbes as a top 30 under 30 VC investor. More recently, Zach was the Vice President of Corporate Development at Careem where he oversaw the completion of several acquisitions and joint ventures. At Careem, Zach also played a role in the launch of Iraq and Sudan as well as Careem’s food delivery, mass transportation, and payments businesses. Prior to that, Zach worked in the Investment Banking division at Citigroup and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Zach earned a BA magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania where he was an editor of the Journal of International relations as well as a board member of the Wharton Undergraduate Finance Club.
